Christopher Nathan "Chris" Thurston

Christopher (Chris) Nathan Thurston of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the age of 48.
Chris was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on January 2nd, 1973. The son of a military family, he grew up in many different places, including England, Germany, Louisiana, California, and Virginia. He graduated from Kaiserslautern American High School in Germany and went on to spend several years as a professional chef prior to becoming an Emergency Medical Technician, which was his true calling. Chris will be best remembered for his huge smile which could light up a room, and for his big heart. He was a man who gave freely of his love, time, and energy for his family and friends. His legacy touched many lives and he will be sincerely missed by all.
Chis is preceded in death by his grandparents Amos and Mabel Johnson Ortego; mother Mary Janell Thurston; and younger sister Jacqueline Thurston Dyer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Dana Mehson Thurston; father Reverend Paul Thurston; sister Sondra Adams and her husband, Blake; his children, Bryan Thurston and his wife Stephanie; Randall Thurston, Russell Thurston, Anna Thurston, Renee Thurston and Maggie Thurston; four grandchildren, Damien Thurston, Nathan Thurston, Jackson Bieberdorf-Thurston, Janell Bieberdorf-Thurston; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home, 2801 Chandler Rd, Muskogee, OK. Reverend Randall Yeoman will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bryan Thurston, Randall Thurston, Russell Thurston, Blake Adams, Zachary Adams, and Marcus Reeves.
Visitation will be available on Friday, February 5, from 10:00am – 8:00pm, with the family in attendance from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
