Linda Spotts, 62, of Muskogee, OK passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Linda was born April 3, 1958 in Muskogee, the daughter of Arthur and Madalyn (Smith) Bingham. She attended elementary school in Tulsa and Muskogee. She graduated from school in 1976 at Muskogee High School. Linda continued her education at Oklahoma Christian College and received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1980. Linda volunteered at schools and did substitute teaching at Muskogee and Hilldale Schools. She was currently employed in the library at Ellington Elementary School in Wagoner, OK.
Linda enjoyed “I Love Lucy” and collected the dolls. She also collected Precious Moments Figurines and enjoyed a trip to Carthage, MO to see where they were made and to hear the stories behind many of the pieces and seeing some of the faces that went on them.
Linda enjoyed cooking as well. She made brownies, “out of this world” chocolate chip cookies and a family favorite, cube steak and gravy.
On June 4, 1982 Linda married Ronald W. Spotts of Haskell, OK. She is survived by her husband of almost 39 years.
Also surviving are two sons: Adam (RaeAnne) of Lakewood, CO and William (Ami) of Porter, OK. Linda has three grandchildren: Lani and Bradley Spotts of Porter, OK and Nolan Spotts of Lakewood, CO; Her mother Madalyn Bingham of Muskogee, OK; her sister Brenda Murrie (Albert) of Muskogee, OK; A sister-in-law Gloria McDaniel (Steve) of Fort Gibson, OK; one niece: LeeAnna Murrie of Muskogee, OK and four nephews: Logan Murrie of Muskogee, OK, Jared Meschberger of Denver, CO, Cody Meschberger of Lee’s Summit, MO and Nick Meschberger of Tulsa, OK. Also, a part of her family are past and present teachers, staff, and students of Ellington elementary in Wagoner, OK. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Bingham.
A viewing will be held at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee on Sunday February 7 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral Service will be at Westside Church of Christ in Muskogee Monday, February 8 at 1:00 pm with Brother Logan Edmison. Serving as pallbearers will be: Lin Cope, Jack Friend, Larry Singleton, Steve Laningham and Steve McDaniel. Burial will follow at the Haskell City Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
