Obituary

Patricia (Pat) Ellen Sloan, 70, of Oktaha, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, in St John’s Hospital at Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pat was born on November 17, 1950, in McAlester, Oklahoma, the daughter of Albert and Ella (Butler) Sloan. She graduated from Oktaha High School in 1969 followed by a year at Haskell Indian College in Lawrence, Kansas.

Pat enjoyed a career employed in various facets of the Muscogee Creek Nation where she was with the food distribution program for several years. She later retired from the Creek Nation Muskogee Casino. She was very humble God-fearing woman. She gave her life to Christ at a young age as a member of the Oktaha Trinity Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and the family gatherings that came with them. Her home was everyone’s home and you were always welcome. She spent the later part of her life mostly with her sister and brother enjoying each other’s company and being with family. Of all the things she loved, she was probably most proud of her grandbabies. She enjoyed watching all their activities, cooking for them and just visiting with them.

Survivors include: Son Phillip (PJ) Sloan and wife, Melissa, of Muskogee, grandchildren; Cayton, Layne and Landrie Sloan of Muskogee, sister’ Phyllis (Sloan) Yahola and husband, Thomas of Wetumka, nephew, Anthony Henry and wife, Mikyla, and children; Jakob, Stevie, and Rosie of Oktaha, niece LaDonna Sloan and daughter Ashlyn of Anadarko.

Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Sara Boone, brother, John Sloan and sister in law, Patricia Sloan.

Viewing for Patricia Sloan will be Sunday, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm January 31, 2021 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2021 at Oktaha Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
