Nancy Ann (Helvey) Wiedel, Muskogee resident, passed from this life Friday January 1, 2021 at her home. She was 90.

Nancy was born March 11, 1930 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Evertt Wade and Ruth Ann (Bentz) Helvey. She was a graduate of South High School in Omaha. She was married to George Edward Wiedel on January 12, 1950 in Hebron, NE. The couple came to Muskogee in 1957. In 1965 they moved back to Nebraska and in 1984 to present, lived in Muskogee. They were married for 57 years before George’s death in 2007.
A devout Catholic she attended St. Joseph Catholic Church for 45 years. She was a loving, caring and patient mother to her 7 children. Along with her husband she enjoyed working with Meals on Wheels for many years.
Surviving are her children, Christopher Wiedel and wife Jeri, Mark Wiedel and wife Dorsinda, Deborah Sherwood and husband David, Jean Johnson and husband Bill, Joel Wiedel and wife Patricia, Stephen and Gerri Wiedel and Louise Adams and husband Norman; 30 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild Crue Gatzman; and one sister Wadyne Jones of Reno, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm Wednesday January 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Grandsons will be Pallbearers: Justin, Jacob, David, Michael, Matt, Jeremiah, Scott, Christopher, Joel Jr., Joshua, Randell Jr., Bryer, Dale, Kenny, and Keifer. Granddaughters will give a rose in honor of their loving grandmother: Randi, Sara, Heather, Nikki, LeAnna, Andrea, Destany, Sarah, Amber, Ashley, Wendy, Jennifer, Summer, Georgia, and Amanda. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. A private Rosary service will be held at Lescher Millsap. Viewing will be Tuesday from 10 am to 5 pm.
