J D Rogers was born January 22, 1941 in Muskogee, OK, the son of John Henry and Katie Elva (Hammans) Rogers. He passed from this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 79.
JD was a veteran of the US Army Reserve and worked most of his life as a farmer. He was known as a straight shooter and a very hard worker.
Surviving are his wife Diann Rogers of the home; children, JLM Rogers, James Hammans and wife Julie, John Hammans and wife Megan, Dusty Rogers and wife Jill and Billy Hammans; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son David John Henry Rogers and two brothers J C Rogers and Bill Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 11, 2021 at the First Assembly of God in Warner OK with Rev. Josh McElyea officiating. Following the service he will be taken by tractor and wagon driven by Bobby Pilkerton to Bennett Cemetery for interment under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Family meal will be held before the service at Warner First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Rogers, John Hammans, Jessy Smith, Brian Chambers, James Hammans, Kayden Hammans and Dylan Hammans. Honorary Pallbearers will be Buddy Little, Bruce Crittenden, Johnny Rogers, J B Herriman and Richard Jackson.
Viewing will be Sunday, January 10th, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lescher Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee.
