George Lee Davis was born June 23rd, 1939 in Vian, Oklahoma, the son of Jess Davis and Aritie Davis (Hendrix). He passed from this life on Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 in Council Hill, Oklahoma. He was 81.
George was a hardworking man. A man that spent his early years picking all variations of fruit up and down the west coast. Seeing all of that beautiful country when he was younger kept him eager to continue to travel whenever he could. He would let all of the country side soak in while driving his eighteen wheeler. There is no doubt that being on the road at a young age gave him his ability to haggle prices down to whatever he deemed reasonable. George figured out a way to fix anything with bailing wire and duct tape. If he couldn't fix it, it wasn't fixable. George believed in working hard and he wanted his children to work hard so that they would build character, worth and value. He enjoyed his children working hard, and earning their keep by picking fruit, even though sometimes, the children ate more then they came home with that evening. George wasn't all work and no play, He could dance. When there was a good country song playing, there wasn't much that could keep him from a two-step and a smile.
George is survived by his wife, Gloria, of the home, three daughters; Paula Melton and husband, John, Katherine Spencer and husband, Edward, and Patricia Bradley and fiancé, Julian King, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, brother, John Davis and wife, Mary, and sister, JoAnn Byrd and husband, Herbert.
He is joined with his parents, son, George Lee Davis, Jr, grandson, Michael Bradley and son-in-law, Charles Bradley in Heaven.
