Joe R. Lemley was more than a Viet Nam Vet who earned a Purple Heart for his country. He was a beloved husband to Daisy for 42 years. He was a wonderful father to his three children Donald, Kimberly and Rhonda. He was also an amazing “Papa”, Uncle, Brother and Friend.
His journey began in Taft, California before moving to Porter, OK. He was the son Ethel and Robert Lemley. Joe was blessed to have many siblings Betty (Jett), John (Jan), Jim (Charlene) 2004 and (Rosemary), Barbara (Doug) and Bobbie. He was preceded in death by both loving parents, sisters Barbara and Bobbie and most recently daughter Kimberly on November 17, 2019.
Joe is survived by his wife Daisy of the home; children Donald and Rhonda (Lance); 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one very special nephew Jeff Lemley.
He worked hard for everything. After injury in Viet Nam he returned to start auto mechanic school at OSU Okmulgee tech. He earned certificates for perfect attendance both in high school and college proving his dedication to success. Joe always enjoyed sports, drawing, designing engines and writing short stories to tell. His long warm hugs will be remembered forever.
