Willis Wineberger passed away in peace at the age of 82 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rachel; sister Carolyn and step-son Speedy. He is survived by his daughters Susan, Donna, and Cheryl, and his sons Robert, Jeff, and Jim, his step children Judson, Marie, and his many grandchildren Zachery, Randy, Robbie, Jessica, Tatiana, and Toly. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Jackson, Mason, Mckenzie, Miley, and Kaylie, to name a few. Of course Willis is further survived by cousins, nephews, and friends.

He will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved his town of Fort Gibson and his church family at the First Pentecostal Church of God. Willis was a proud patriot and U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the local American Legion. Most importantly, he was a follower of Christ as his Savior and Lord and he was happy to be at church any time the doors were open.

Funeral services will be held on Friday June 19th, 2020 at 9:30 at the First Pentecostal Church of God, 305 SE Railroad St, Fort Gibson, OK 74434 with Pastor Tonna Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery with military honors under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral of Fort Gibson. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday June 18th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm..

Donations can be made to the First Pentecostal Church of God.

This is my beloved Uncle, my mother's brother, he was also loved and adored by his unmentioned neices, Joanie, Debbie, Barbara, Rhonda, Donna, Shannon, who had strong ties and very much love for this amazing man who served in the USN at a very young age and brought joy and happiness to so many. I would love to share photos of Uncle Willie when he was younger, the first around age 14 with his mother, sisters , brother and nephew Len Matthews and the second as a young sailor around 1958.
