1953 – 2020
Kathy Lynn Mosteller was born April 28, 1953 in Muskogee, OK to Vondale and Onetta Hardin. She grew up and graduated high school in Fort Gibson, OK. She was united in marriage to James Mosteller on May 24, 1973, a marriage that lasted 46 years. Unto this union, three wonderful children were born (Her words not ours). Kathy retired from the VA Regional office after 25 years of service to begin the career she was put on this earth for, Full Time Nana. For as much as she thought of her children, her grandchildren were put on an even higher pedestal. They wanted for nothing when Nana was around. Faith was number one in Kathy’s life. She was a lifelong member of Fort Gibson First Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping in the kitchen and teaching Children’s Church. Without Faith, you can’t have a family, and family was her next priority. Her devotion to her husband and children was immeasurable. Her sole goal in life was for her children to have life better than she did, she accomplished this goal through sheer will and determination, oftentimes in spite of her children’s best efforts. A wonderful cook and hard worker, Kathy made a home second to none for her family. Although her passing was unexpected, her family is forever grateful for the time they were able to spend with her and that she was our wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James Mosteller. Children, James and Kim Gilbreth, Josh and Stephanie Mosteller and Gabe and Charli Mosteller. Her grandchildren, Emma Gilbreth, Sylvia Gilbreth, Vanessa Gilbreth and Rebecca Gilbreth, Samantha Salat, Aubree Green, Finn Mosteller and Hayes Mosteller. Her siblings, Carol Mosteller, Lou Ann Stretch, Doug Hardin and Nancy Obregon.
While there is a void in our lives that can never be filled, her legacy of faith and family will be passed on for generations to come.
We love you Nana.
