Polly Faye Irvin was born April 24th, 1961, at home in rural Mountainair, New Mexico, to Horton Eugene and Virginia Elaine Irvin. She was the twelfth child of fourteen children.

Polly was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers, Paul Dale, John Wade, Clifford Eugene and Horton Lee; as well as two sisters, Lenora Elaine Acosta and Ellen Sue McHuen. She is survived by two brothers, Daniel Clinton, Ashland, Kentucky; Steven Wayne, Wellston, Oklahoma; and five sisters, Emma Frances Hardcastle, of Estancia, New Mexico; Kathryne Lorraine Carter, Deming, New Mexico; Virginia May Benson, Pryor, Oklahoma; Priscilla Lynn Krug, Webbers Falls, Oklahoma; and Murreline Sherryl Collins, Hot Springs, Arkansas; as well as 18 nieces and nephews, twenty-two great nieces & nephews, four g-great nephews and one g-great niece.

Polly made a profession of faith at a very young age in New Mexico, before the family moved to Fowler, Colorado, where her daddy pastored Pitkin Avenue Baptist Church. While there, she attended and graduated in 1979, from Faith Christian Academy. After working a couple of years, she attended and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist College in Oklahoma City, before teaching elementary school at Windsor Hills Baptist Schools.

She was then called to the mission field and went to Belarus, assisting Daniel Irvin and other missionaries there. After having to leave Belarus, due to political problems in 1998, she moved back to New Mexico to help with the care of her mother. There she joined Bella Vista Baptist Church and took a teaching position in their school until the death of her mother, when she was once again called to the mission field, where she served in Odessa, Ukraine, with brother Mark & Lydia Priem, John & Dawn Spillman and other missionaries.

Her failing health brought her back to Oklahoma in the fall of 2018, and the doctors gave her just two months to live. Just over a year later, the Lord called her home on November 25th, 2019.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, OK under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Vaught Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be Wednesday at the Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm.

Polly was one of my best friends in college. She was the most unselfish person. Polly was an inspiration to me. She was just so faithful. You could always depend on Polly. In college, Polly, Becky, Kay, and I spent many hours together studying, talking, laughing, and visiting the parents of the kids on our Sunday School bus route . Polly always kept us straight. She was always the calm voice of reason when we got too crazy. It was such a joy to just be around Polly. What a beautiful person she was to everyone who knew her. We were blessed to call her our friend. She will be missed. Although our hearts hurt missing her, there is comfort to know she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Looking forward to reuniting again someday with Polly in Heaven. what a day that will be!
