Betty Ann Chappell, Warner resident, died Wednesday October 2, 2019 at her home. She was 83.

Born August 26, 1936 in Webbers Falls she was the daughter of Wayne and Thelma Wilcox. She grew up in Webbers Falls and attended school there. Betty worked as a custodian for 20 years for Connors State College. On December 17, 1990 she was married to Burl Chappell. He preceded her in death in 2014.
Betty loved sewing, baking, gardening, square dancing and especially reading her Bible. She was known as the “Town Mother” and a prayer warrior. Anyone that was in need of prayer knew they could come to her.
Survivors include her children, Donna Jones and husband Roger, Judy Gilreath, Wayne Hinkle and wife Tonya, Jim Chappell and wife Angie and Wayne Chappell and wife Wanda; one sister Loretta Berry; 10 grandchildren, Josh Jones and wife Shelly, Allison Williams and husband Robby, Carrie Rolston and husband Roger, Amanda Perry and husband Billy, James Owens and wife Karrigan, Sarah Hinkle and husband Colton, Kyle Manning, Heather Chappell, Zachary Chappell, Mona Dewoody and husband Jimmy and Stephanie Lesser; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Burl, her parents and two brothers Robert Hunter and Dee Hunter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at the First Assembly of God in Warner, OK with Pastor Josh McElyea officiating. Interment will follow at Warner Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Viewing will be Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until service time at the church in Warner, OK.
