Marilyn Jean Moore was born January 25, 1927 in Fort Gibson, OK the daughter of George Thomas and Lucy Breashaw Cook and died Wednesday September 11, 2019 in Muskogee, OK. She met her future husband William J. Moore while he was in training at Camp Gruber. They were married in Yonkers, New York on November 24, 1945. She was employed with Technicon Corporation for 19 years before retiring in 1986 as a Communications Supervisor. The couple moved to Fort Gibson in 1986.

Survivors include his two sons, William Joseph Moore Jr. and Wanda of Kure Beach, NC, Larry J. Moore of Muskogee; two grandchildren, William J. Moore III and Nancy, Elizabeth Oliveri and Adam; six great-grandchildren, Melanie, Billy and Joey Moore, Max Oliveri, Jack Oliveri and Sydney Oliveri. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers, George A “Pete” Cook, Joe R. Cook, JW “John” Cook, Buck Cook and Donald and three sisters Ellen Swim, Minnie Fisher and Elizabeth “Red” Hamilton.
Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the care and direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
