Mary Goodman, aged 89, passed from this life to her eternal reward on Thursday, August 8, 2019. She was at Eastgate Nursing Home in Muskogee, OK. At her side were her two granddaughters and her friends.

Mary was born at Fort Cobb, OK on August 11, 1929. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to Shafter, California. In 1949 Mary graduated high school from Wasco, High in Wasco, California.
On September 1, 1951 she married her loving husband James Elvin Goodman. Their union lasted for 65 years, ending at Elvin’s passing on February 12, 2016.
After Elvin served in the Korean War Conflict, Mary joined him at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, California. It was here on March 24, 1954 her only child, Edwin DeWayne Goodman was born.
After being discharged from the Air Force, Mary and Elvin made their home in Bakersfield, California. In 1957 Mary and Elvin made their life changing and life-long decision to dedicate their lives to their Lord. Soon after Elvin followed his calling into the ministry with Mary ever faithful at his side. Their ministry of evangelism and pastoring lasted 65 years.
On February 14, 1974, Mary gained a daughter Ona by the marriage of her son, DeWayne. From this marriage she received her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Edwina Renee, Jennifer Anne, and Jonathan James.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories her son DeWayne and his wife Ona of Muskogee, OK. Also, granddaughter Edwina and husband Brad Williams of Muskogee, OK, granddaughter Jennifer and husband Stephen Collins of Muskogee, OK, grandson Jonathan Goodman of Brooklyn, NY, great granddaughters Addison, Jillian Williams, and Sieara Collins, and great grandson Carter Collins. Sister Louise Scott Bakersfield, CA, sister-in-laws Geri Carter and Joan Carter both of Bakersfield, CA, brother-in-law Vernon and Bertha Goodman of Wagoner, OK, sister-in-law Louise Dunegan of Checotah, OK, brother-in-law Clark Goodman of Baker, MT, sister-in-law Betty Goodman of Dewey, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend/caregiver Sheila Seabolt Rainbolt.
Services will be conducted by Lescher-Millsap funeral at their chapel on Wenesday, August 14th at 10 AM. Services will be led by Pastor Rodney Mattox. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Serving Pallbearers will be Brad Williams, Stephen Collins, Carter Collins, Bill Meeks, Donnie Guinn, and Mike Bullard.
