Iomagene Plunkett Rozzell, was born February 15, 1926 in Gore, Oklahoma to Clyde and Myrtle Plunkett. She was the first of their nine children. Iomagene peacefully passed away from this life on Monday May 20, 2019 at her home in Warner.

Gene grew up in Gore, OK and attended Chilocco Indian School. A very fashionable lady, Gene served as one of Governor Bellmon’s Belles hostesses for the bachelor governor. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Very fond of traveling, Gene visited many lands including Hawaii, Mexico, Ireland, Alaska and Puerto Rico. She had homes in various places such as Nowata, Barnsdall, Webbers Falls, Porum, Idabel, Gore, Warner in Oklahoma and in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Jeane Burruss of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter Stephanie Jeane Oldham and husband Josef and great granddaughter Gentry Raine Martinez all of Dallas; brothers Charley Plunkett and wife Maura of Mesquite, NV, Ira Plunkett and wife Connie of Council Bluffs, IA; sister Etha Tatum of Warner, OK. Gene also had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hewey Rozzell and siblings, Colleen Villerreal, Jack Plunkett, Howard Plunkett, James Plunkett and John Plunkett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday May 24, 2019 at the Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee with Pastor Sam Dunn officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 pm in the Nowata Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home. Viewing will be on Thursday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
