David Milton Langston, 92, formerly of Fort Gibson, OK, was born December 30, 1925 at Fort Gibson, OK, the son of Robert Smith and Pearl Christine (Mayes) Langston and died Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Oklahoma City.
David was a 1943 graduate of Fort Gibson High School. After graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he earned the Purple Heart for wounds suffered while serving in the Pacific. After being honorably discharged from the Army he attended NSU and later graduated with a degree in civil engineering from OSU. He met and later married Francesca Thompson on April 25, 1959 in Fort Gibson, OK. David was part of the construction team on the Fort Gibson Dam, worked as an engineer on the Glass House Restaurant over the Will Rodgers Turnpike, and retired in 1995 as Director of Operations after over 25 years with Gulf Oil Company. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church and was instrumental in building the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center. When he could no longer drive to church, he walked.
Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Singleton and husband, Bobby, of Milan, TN; son, Michael Langston and wife, Jeri, of Norman, OK; sister, Mary Peebles of Owasso; grandchildren, Brett Singleton and wife, Lindy, Kendall Singleton, Allan Langston and wife, Cami, JeriKris Medina and husband, Fernando, Michael David Langston, and Chelsey Langston; great-grandchildren, Harris Langston, Walker Langston, and Jezreella Medina. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francesca; parents; brother, Robert M. Langston; and sister, Sammy Ruth Langston.
Services for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Fort Gibson with Rev. Ray Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Fort Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Allan Langston, Michael David Langston, John Fleming, Fernando Medina, Ryan Baker and Alan Peebles.

Memorial contributions may be made the the Fort Gibson First United Methodist Church.
